Innovation! A triple “opera” or "Turtle" castor equipped with a ball joint and a trapezoidal thrust screw.
The efficiency and ease of movement of an turtle castor!
The natural load distribution in three equal parts of a triple castor on an equilateral triangle!
The safety of a ball joint to adapt to uneven floors!
A trapezoidal thrust screw that allows for easy lifting, without compressed air or electricity, simply using a 24 mm socket and a ratchet wrench!
For heavy loads such as stage sets, mobile stages, and machinery, it is sometimes necessary to provide a means of lifting and moving them.
Electric, hydraulic or pneumatic mechanical means are expensive and add complexity that is not always beneficial to the solution.
Offering a reliable system based on a trapezoidal screw allows you to:
* Leave the machine or set on its usual supports, making it more stable and solid
* Only lift it when moving it and avoid putting constant weight on the casters
* Benefit from the lifting efficiency of a trapezoidal screw, which is much more effective than a conventional screw
* Benefit from the rigidity of an oversized rod that can withstand lateral forces and leverage effects
* Lift the load with a simple tool that does not need to be present on each wheel: ratchet wrench, impact wrench, or high-torque angle screwdriver with batteries
* Eliminate the need for any other on-board lifting equipment that adds cost, weight, risk of failure, and complexity to the device
Offering an adaptable system based on an articulated ball joint allows you to:
* Guarantee a central thrust that is perfectly balanced on the equilateral triangle and does not transmit parasitic torque to it
* Offer rotation and articulation functions in a single mechanical system that is simple, reliable, efficient, and maintenance-free
* Allow the triangular plate to adapt well to uneven ground by giving it a freedom of movement of + or - 15° in all directions
* Ensure that no unnecessary force is exerted on the screw axis by not transmitting any torque from the roller plate or ground irregularities to it
This innovative technology can be added or inserted into any design that can accommodate the trapezoidal threaded rod nut.
This nut, which is hexagonal or square (as shown in the photos), can be welded (steel), integrated, or screwed onto the support of your choice.
If you wish, you can purchase our perforated plate designed to be mounted with four M12 screws. (see photos)
If you wish, you can ask us to design a solution tailored to your specifications.

In normal use, the casters are not loaded, the screw is raised, and they do not touch the ground. The machine — or chassis — is then placed on its usual feet, ensuring that it does not slip and providing great stability, especially for systems subject to vibrations.
When the chassis needs to be moved, simply lift it onto its casters to raise it sufficiently off the ground. The screw travel is approximately 15 cm, which ensures that various obstacles can be overcome without too much difficulty.
Lift each wheel in turn using a rotating tool fitted with a 24 mm socket (e.g., a crank handle or large ratchet wrench). Working with a battery-powered power tool makes the task much easier and faster. Once the frame is at the desired height, simply push it by hand or pull it using the means of your choice.
When moving, the casters rotate freely and adapt to unevenness and irregularities in the floor. The rod has 150 to 180 mm of free vertical stroke, but it is generously sized to absorb horizontal shocks caused by the movement of the unit.
When the frame is at rest or has reached its position, simply raise the casters to relieve them and rest the frame on its standard supports.
The casters are individually rated for a working load of 500 kg.
The platform and rod assembly are rated for the following loads:
Maintained service loads:
* 600 kg vertical load
Impact loads due to rolling motion:
* 1200 kg vertical load
* 300 kg horizontal load at the end of the screw
* Castor diameter: 100 mm
* Plate diameter: 350 mm
* Total overall diameter: plate + castor overhang: 445 mm
* Castor height: 130 mm
* Plate height: 160 mm
* Total overall height: with screw: 450 mm
* Total length of threaded part: 230 mm
* Effective screw stroke length: 150 mm
* Screw head: 24 mm hexagon
* Standard perforated plate dimensions: 134 x 202 mm
* Spacing between M12 screws on standard perforated plate: 90 x 140 mm
