The 3 winches are close, but it is important to understand the differences between the models:
From the simplest to the most complex:

* The TRACTION WINCH can participate in load lifting or traction assistance operations, directly or via a mechanical advantage, but it is not directly certified according to Machinery Directive CE-2006-42 for lifting, because the rope is not captive to the winch head. Which means that it is good to add another compliant device, fall arrest, blocker (rope grab or clamp) or descender. Human lifting is not prohibited as long as the winch only provides traction assistance and the person is secured by other compliant means. < Crank position: from above >

* The TOPCRANK LOKHEAD WINCH can participate in load lifting or traction assistance operations, directly or via a mechanical advantage, AND it is directly certified according to Machinery Directive CE-2006-42 for lifting, because the rope is captive to the winch head. Which means that it is not necessary to add another compliant, fall arrest, blocker (rope grab or clamp) descender device. * The LOKHEAD WINCH (ref. INLH500) can do it all. It is compliant with the lifting of persons as certified PPE (EC type-examination), in particular on the basis of standard EN 1496 "Personal protective equipment against falls - Rescue devices by elevation", Machinery Directive CE-2006-42 and Standard EN 13157 “Suspended load lifting devices – Safety – Arm lifting devices”. < Crank position: from bellow >

Description

The innovative LokHead winch is a portable or fix-mounted load-lifting, personnel-hoisting winch used with an unlimited length of fiber rope.

The captive head allows the winch to be used safely, and keeps the rope from accidentally releasing.

Perfect for fixed or temporary applications and rescue.

Harken Industrial offers the LokHead and its accessories fully boxed in a heavy-duty storage case that allows safe transport and rapid deployment.

The kit includes the LokHead winch with reversible plate, winch handle, universal tripod adapter, control lever, 2 carabiners, waterproof case and anchor strap with connectors to offer a variety of mounting options: clamped to tripods, rigged to ropes/strops, or anchored direct to structures.

Spare parts available from any Harken Industrial dealer. The simple construction requires no lubrication and can be flushed clean with fresh water.

Can be mounted to a tripod. either via a connector or via the Harken tube clamp.

For use with multiple attachments depending on the environment and industry; from ratchet straps, M10 bolts, carabiners, to scaffold clamps.
