HARKEN SNATCHET 65 Ratchet

The new Snatchet system from Harken is a mobile pulley that opens on a carabiner.

Operation of a winch pulley?

It operates as a pulley on ball bearings in the lifting direction.

But it works as a friction descender in the down direction.

And this function can be removed by disengaging the ratchet.

The result ? An easy-to-install device that can be opened with one hand.

This system is also equipped with a ratchet system to ensure better superior control and performance.

The cheeks are made of composite material, the pulley is made of stainless steel, and the carabiner, carbon steel.

The Snatchet Harken system is also available with a classic pulley, without ratchet.

Principle of the ratchet winch pulley :

* A winch pulley is a pulley which:
- Rotates normally in the direction of the pull for easier movement and less friction
- Does not rotate the other way so as to increase friction and require less effort when maintaining load or tension
* When descending, this natural braking system acts as a descender
* This blocking is not permanent, it can be deactivated by a small slider; the pulley then becomes a conventional pulley again.

Advantages :

* The rope can be engaged without releasing the anchor point.
* The pulley is more compact than a traditional Carabiner + Pulley combination
* No risk of incorrect positioning of the rope between the pulley and the carabiner.
* Increased space has been provided for the passage of the rope : opening 22 mm
