MATIK Insurers Descenders

Matik is CAMP's breakthrough novelty in the field of assisted fallers with assisted braking for sport climbing.

Designed for dynamic single-strings from 8.6 to 10.2 mm in diameter, it provides outstanding fluidity and distinguishes itself from other similar devices by its lower stopping force and its greater dynamic belay. This is thanks to a single-shoe braking system, which operates differently than traditional eccentric cams. Another special feature of the Matik is the unprecedented control of the descent, which has become extremely secure thanks to the patented emergency pan-exit system that is triggered in the event of accidental or uncontrolled activation of the unlocking lever.
The mechanism is triggered when the lever is too open or when it is opened too quickly, stopping immediately the scrolling of the rope. The system makes
really the difference in case of empty descents or descents in rickshaws without intermediate returns, especially with thin ropes.
The absence of movable flanges prevents the use of the open Matik: if the cam is not in a good position, its rear end closes the fastening hole and does not allow the insertion of the carabiner.
By working with the rope in the axis, without the need to turn it on the cheek, the Matik reduces the wear of the sheath; the dynamic stop of the fall also avoids significant stress: all this prolongs the life of the rope.

 

IMPORTANT: As a device with assisted braking, the Matik always requires a cautious and responsible attitude on the part of the insurer who must always use both hands without NEVER let go of the hand downstream of the rope.
