6 mm Friction Thimble

Open thimble for synthetic fiber creating a friction ring - KARVER 6/8 mm.

This hollow, open thimble is an ideal product for creating durable protection for your most sensitive ropes.

Thanks to its rounded shape, it naturally creates a friction ring so you don't need a pulley.

Open friction ring available in 4,5 ; 6 ; 7,5 et 9 mm.

Thanks to its open design, this friction ring can be mounted in configurations that would be impossible with a conventional (closed) friction ring.

Description

This open ring can be used to guide another rope passing through the thimble:
* either to deflect it locally from its trajectory,
* or to create a false pulley (friction ring),
* or, quite simply, to connect two ropes together, avoiding fibre-to-fibre contact.

In acrobatic sectors, this type of open ring can be used to :
* Make a tensioning system or a mechanical advantage (especially for guy lines)
* Deflect a running rope by moving it away from an obstacle or by placing it in an optimal geometry.
* Mechanically protect the end of a rope (Thimble)
* Provide a discreet, compact connection between two textiles: between a flying line and a harness, for example.

The passage is optimised to allow the rope to pass through with a slight force and to prevent it escaping during use.
