Description

Stop balls are an effective way to manage contact between a flexible end (rope or cable) and an obstacle (usually a pulley).

Without a stop ball, the end may get caught or torn upon contact with the pulley.

With a stop ball, the thimble naturally rests against the ball, and the ball rests against the pulley, creating a cleaner and safer contact point.

A ball can also be used to form a handle when placed over a knot.

Preparation / Drilling

If the ball’s inner hole is too small for your application, you can drill it out with a drill bit to enlarge it as needed.
