These braids are simple braids without a sheath, generally with 12 strands, with a diameter of 3 to 10 mm, as opposed to double braid ropes, which have both a core and a sheath.

This product is to be purchased in addition to your rope length.

You can specify each type of end you want: Each rope has two ends.

The price corresponds to the finish offered on one end only.

Description

The movable splice CATSLINGER system is a unique concept in the world of textile terminations.

It allows you to adjust the length of an Aramid or Dyneema rope without knots or using metal supports, simply by sliding the movable splice along the rope to the desired position.

As it is self-locking, the textile splice tightens around the central rope and locks it in place by friction.

This is particularly the case for acrobatic needs and structural bracing.
It works in the same way as a REUTLINGER for a metal cable.
Hence its name CATSlinger - The mobile textile blocker!
If you need to set up an acrobatic apparatus at a different height and width and do not want to use steel cable,
the CATSLINGER is your best choice.

High-modulus braids (Aramid or Dyneema) replace steel wire rope.

Catslingers allow them to be adjusted without tying knots.

Specifications

 * Work to create a CATSLINGER-type mobile splice on a single braid
* With ligature + stainless steel thimble
* The ligature is a whip round the base of the splice that ensures the loop stays securely in place
* The thimble protects the rope from friction with the connector, extending the life of your sling
* Please note that the thickness of the CATSLINGER and the thimble creates an obstacle if you want to pass through a non-opening pulley.
In this case, order the other end with an eye and an aramid over-sheath so that you can pass through your pulleys on that side.

Avantages

 * A splice is stronger than a knot.
* Certain highly static materials such as ARAMID or DYNEEMA do not tolerate knots well, losing 40% to 80% of their strength.
* For these materials, it is preferable to use a modern splice that allows you to make a loop without knot. However, these splices are generally fixed.
* The CATSLINGER offers a new solution: it allows you to move the splice as desired.
* It consists of two hollow braids through which the main rope passes, forming a three-layer system.
* The two ball knots allow the two braids of the sock to be stretched into position for proper placement and tightening.
* The small Velcro strip at the start of the Catslinger allows you to start with a little friction on the rope in order to quickly increase it along the sock and achieve a good tightness.
* The stainless steel thimble protects the eye loop and increases the overall lifespan.
* The absence of steel wire rope makes your system much more compact and lighter, allowing you to travel easily without carrying too many heavy steel parts.

Length

Please note that CATSLINGER socks triple the volume of the rope over a length of 150 to 180 times its diameter.
This creates more volume and rigidity in this area.

Exemples :
* 3 mm single braid: Catslinger length 450 mm
* 6 mm single braid: Catslinger length 900 mm
* 8 mm single braid: Catslinger length 1200 mm

Slip resistance

CATSLINGERS have adjustable resistance:
* the longer the sock, the more it will block the rope, including at 100% of its breaking strength (180 to 200 times the diameter)
* if the sleeve is slightly reduced (150 to 180 times the diameter), it is possible to slide it to 80% or 90% of the breaking strength of the string, which means it will never break and will slide gradually as it approaches its breaking strength.
