Process

To achieve a good crimp with Nicopress, it is necessary to address these three questions in order:
1- What is the cable to be crimped: its diameter, material, and type of construction? (e.g., 6 mm galvanized steel 7x19)
2- Which type of sleeve in the Nicopress range is suitable for this cable? (e.g., oval size 6-VX in aluminum)
3- Which type of tool in the Nicopress range is suitable for crimping this sleeve? (e.g., jaw size VX - 2 crimps)
The sleeve code indicates the jaw code to be used.
At the end of the crimping process, a control plate (Go gauge - supplied) is used to ensure that the sleeve has been correctly crushed by the tool.

Each tool comes with a “GO” gauge plate to check that the crimp is correct: that the sleeve is compressed just enough, neither too much nor too little.
